Hi: I upgrade our freeradius server from RHEL 8.6 to 9.0. and found many sub-packages are dropped. according to bug #1954497 I can understand it makes support for the package easier. but is there any places to put these unsupported sub-packages for users to use? EPEL seems won't handle these built but dropped packages. fortunately the source rpm is still fine so I can still rebuild these sub-packages easily. BTW, radius is supposed to not only authenticate but also save accounting records. but all the database sub-packages are dropped (mysql,postgresql...). so I don't know what's the RedHat plan to store these accounting data?
Hi, Since RHEL9, FreeRADIUS is only supported when used as an authentication method for RHEL Identity Management. However I agree adding these unsupported packages to EPEL would be a good idea, I will work on it.
These packages should be added following these instructions: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/epel/epel-policy-missing-sub-packages/
Instead of EPEL, we will be adding these subpackages to CRB: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2126380
