Description Sneha Arya 2022-09-06 12:12:32 UTC
Description of problem:
Changing the Capsule field post the curl command is generated during registration failed with an error.

"There was an error while generating the command, see the logs for more information."

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to Satellite WebUI > Hosts -> Register Host
2. Select Capsule parameter as capsule server FQDN, select other fields such as Host Group, Activation Key and then click on Generate
3. Once the Curl command is generated, change the capsule parameter again to default (Satellite) and regenerate the curl command by hitting Generate.

Actual results:
No Curl command generated again for host registration with satellite and throwing the following message-

"There was an error while generating the command, see the logs for more information."

Expected results:
After changing the Capsule parameter and hitting the Generate, another curl command should be created to register the host.

Hi,
can you please upload the application log?

Comment 3 Leos Stejskal 2022-09-06 12:38:43 UTC
Created redmine issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/35490 from this bug

Comment 4 Leos Stejskal 2022-09-06 12:43:28 UTC
No need for the log, issue is easily reproducible on every setup.

Comment 6 Bryan Kearney 2022-09-07 16:04:57 UTC
Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite since the upstream issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/35490 has been resolved.

Comment 7 Shweta Singh 2023-01-29 15:56:34 UTC
Verified.

Version Tested: Satellite 6.13 Snap 8.0

Verification Steps:
1. Navigate to Satellite WebUI > Hosts -> Register Host
2. Select all fields and capsule fqdn and click generate.
3. Change the capsule parameter to default(Satellite) and regenerate the curl command.

Observation:
Curl command gets generated both times successfully.
