Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made. Specifically, please remember that it is your responsibility to review the new version to ensure that the licensing is still correct and that no non-free or legally problematic items have been added upstream.

I am working on submitting a PR to enhance the handling of licensing/bundling, so I'll also update the package in it if you don't mind.

Comment 2 Fabio Valentini 2022-09-07 10:29:50 UTC
No, please don't work on 1.21.
I do some amount of local testing to ensure things work as expected before pushing new versions.

If you want to handle bundling/licensing differently, please submit that as an independent PR after I pushed the 1.21 update. (Does this new stuff also work on EPEL8/9? because apparently I need to care about those with this package ...)

Ack. I'll rebase my working tree after you update it.

It works on EPEL 9. I have not yet backported it to EPEL 8.
