Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Satyajit Das 2022-09-19 17:20:32 UTC
Description of problem:

RedHat satellite is primarily used for provisioning and patching, a lot of our customers use custom provisioning templates to provision host, if the provisioning of a host fails due to incorrect syntax in the template or a mismatch in the template associated with the host, then we review the template for the specific host, under (Hosts > All Hosts > Host > Details > Templates ) to identity which templates were used and make changes accordingly.

However, with the new UI, the templates tab is dropped. Though we have other means to render the template, however, it's not flexible, as it does not give us the option to list all the templates used by the host, under one tab.

A suggestion would be to add the templates tab, under (Hosts > All Hosts > Host > Details > Templates ) like the one we have till now (From Satellite 6.0 till 6.11)

Connecting redmine issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/35176 from this bug

Comment 3 Bryan Kearney 2022-10-10 16:04:22 UTC
Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite since the upstream issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/35176 has been resolved.

Comment 8 Pavel Novotny 2023-03-07 21:13:02 UTC
Verified in foreman-3.5.1.6-1.el8sat.noarch

The host Details tab has new card Provisioning templates.
On the card, the templates can be reviewed (on the same page) or edited (loads a new page).
