This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description of problem:

  cups-brf needs to be run as root, otherwise it leaves error messages
  in journal

  Run "lpinfo -v"

Actual results:

  Error messages in journal:

  Sep 20 16:25:00 rhel860-test cupsd[36618]: [cups-deviced] PID 36652 (cups-brf) stopped with status 1!

  cups-brf missing in output of "lpinfo -v"

Expected results:

  [root@rhel860-test ~]# lpinfo -v
  network ipps
  network socket
  file cups-brf:/
  ...

  No additional errors in the journal:

  Fixed in Fedora and RHEL 9.
  Unfixed in RHEL 8.
