Comment 1 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2022-09-26 15:52:24 UTC
Proposed as a Blocker and Freeze Exception for 37-final by Fedora user lruzicka using the blocker tracking app because:

I am proposing this because it might violate the Basic Functionality of a preinstalled application.

Comment 2 Kalev Lember 2022-09-26 16:30:15 UTC
I went ahead and backported libsoup upstream MR 310 that's supposed to fix this

FEDORA-2022-094ef88915 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 37. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2022-094ef88915

Comment 4 Geoffrey Marr 2022-09-26 17:20:22 UTC
Discussed during the 2022-09-26 blocker review meeting: [0]

The decision to classify this bug as an "AcceptedBlocker (Final)" was made as this is agreed to be a violation of the requirement that all apps installed by default on x86_64 Workstation "withstand a basic functionality test", as we consider "flying to a new location" a pretty basic function of a Maps app.

Comment 6 Lukas Ruzicka 2022-09-27 15:49:16 UTC
I tried to search several distant locations and the application did not crash a single time. I think the above fix works well.

Comment 7 Geraldo Simião 2022-09-29 21:40:23 UTC
Confirmed here too, with the update and without it. The update https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2022-094ef88915 seems to fix this bug.
