Hello,

Please note that this comment was generated automatically. If you feel that this output has mistakes, please contact me via email (mhroncok).

Your package (pgadmin4) Fails To Install in Fedora 36:

can't install pgadmin4:
  - nothing provides (python3dist(flask-compress) >= 1 with python3dist(flask-compress) < 2) needed by pgadmin4-6.12-6.fc36.x86_64

If you know about this problem and are planning on fixing it, please acknowledge so by setting the bug status to ASSIGNED. If you don't have time to maintain this package, consider orphaning it, so maintainers of dependent packages realize the problem.

If you don't react accordingly to the policy for FTBFS/FTI bugs (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/), your package may be orphaned in 8+ weeks.

P.S. The data was generated solely from koji buildroot, so it might be newer than the latest compose or the content on mirrors. To reproduce, use the koji/local repo only, e.g. in mock:

    $ mock -r fedora-36-x86_64 --config-opts mirrored=False install pgadmin4

P.P.S. If this bug has been reported in the middle of upgrading multiple dependent packages, please consider using side tags: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/#updating-inter-dependent-packages

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is a pgadmin bug, or a python3-flask-compress bug.

Here's additional output that might help.
 Problem: package pgadmin4-6.12-6.fc36.x86_64 requires (python3dist(flask-compress) >= 1 with python3dist(flask-compress) < 2), but none of the providers can be installed
  - cannot install both python3-flask-compress-1.13-2.fc36.noarch and python3-flask-compress-1.12-1.fc36.noarch
  - cannot install both python3-flask-compress-1.13-2.fc36.noarch and python3-flask-compress-1.11-1.fc36.noarch
  - cannot install the best update candidate for package python3-flask-compress-1.12-1.fc36.noarch
  - cannot install the best update candidate for package pgadmin4-6.12-6.fc36.x86_64

Comment 2 Sandro Mani 2022-10-08 19:43:50 UTC
This is a python-flask-compress bug, it's provides are broken:

python3.10dist(flask-compress) = 0
python3dist(flask-compress) = 0

whereas it should be

python3.11dist(flask-compress) = 1.13
python3dist(flask-compress) = 1.13

I had submitted a fix, but apparently it only worked on F38 and F37. I'll look at why it did not work for F36.
