Description of problem: In most current KDE-based Linux distributions (OpenSUSE, Kubuntu, KDE Neon, etc.) the Dolphin file manager displays video thumbnails using ffmpegthumbnailer. Apparently EPEL's Dolphin has been built without this rather basic functionality, even though the ffmpegthumbnailer package is also available in EPEL. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): dolphin-21.08.3-1.el8.x86_64 How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install RHEL 8.6 or a clone like Rocky Linux 8.6. 2. Install KDE Plasma package group. 3. Fire up KDE. 4. Fire up Dolphin. 5. Open some directory with video files in it. Actual results: Video thumbnails don't show. In Dolphin's configuration dialogue, this functionality is missing. Expected results: Video files should be viewed as thumbnails. Additional info: Apparently Dolphin has been built without ffmpegthumbs support, even though the ffmpegthumbnailer package is available in EPEL.
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.
