Description of problem:
Hi, could you please also build wasmedge for epel so that rhel and centos users can also conveniently install wasmedge?

It will involve requesting `epel8` and `epel9` branches followed by koji builds and bodhi updates, similar to what you did for f37 and f36. See: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/New_Package_Process_for_New_Contributors/#add_package_to_source_code_management_scm_system_and_set_owner

Hi @lsm5,

We encounter some problems when building wasmedge on epel8.
Wasmedge requires the gcc-c++ version >= 9, but there is only version 8.5 available in epel8.
Is there any solution to solve this problem?

I see. I guess the only feasible solution would be to get RHEL 8 to bump gcc-c++. I'll try to make that request but I don't have high hopes TBH.

So, please ignore epel8 for now. I'll get back to you if there's any updates. Thanks for adding it to epel9!!

Just wondering, how painful would it be for secondstate to make wasmedge compile with gcc-c++ 8.5 ?

If neither of these 2 options work, it might mean excluding wasmedge from rhel 8 (and centos 8 stream and other rhel 8 based distros). There could be other options like fedora copr (kind of similar to ubuntu ppa) but that could be very painful to maintain and might cause unavoidable conflicts with the default packages.

The latest RHEL 8.7 includes a developer-toolset which will provide newer versions of gcc. So, it should be a lot easier to get this done for epel8. I'll check with some people on how to enable it and maybe send you a link or PR.
