Description of problem: I disabled IPv6 with MCP, and on deploying CNV on OCP 4.12 I get this message, 2022/10/28 01:56:35 [emerg] 1#0: socket() [::]:8080 failed (97: Address family not supported by protocol) nginx: [emerg] socket() [::]:8080 failed (97: Address family not supported by protocol) Once I remove the MCP, the operator finishes the installation Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 4.12 How reproducible: Every time for now. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add an MCP to disable IPv6, and run the CNV installation 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Additional info: https://issues.redhat.com/browse/CNV-22094
Depending on the complexity of the fix, we will need to decide on backporting it. If it will be very complex, most likely it won't be backported, as no customer was complaining about it so far.
Tested with interim CNV v4.12.1 build ( 4.12.1-39 ). With the IPv4 single-stack OCP cluster, CNV operator could be installed/deployed successfully
