I've submitted the backport required to get this fix into Wallaby. It's currently waiting behind some CI fixes that are nearly through the gate.

The fix has merged to stable/wallaby and should be picked up on the next import for 17.1

Closing this issue as UPSTREAM. Fixes are merged upstream and will be imported for a future RHOSP 17.1, but priority is low since this functionality is not recommended for production, and will not be tested for downstream composes.
