Red Hat Bugzilla 2144763 0 medium CLOSED Please add libcdr-devel to CRB 9 2022-11-22 10:27:36 UTC

Description Robert Scheck 2022-11-21 23:25:25 UTC
Please branch and build libcdr in epel9.

If you do not wish to maintain libcdr in epel9, or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner, the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package; please add the epel-packagers-sig group through
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/libcdr/addgroup and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

Comment 1 Robert Scheck 2022-11-21 23:29:38 UTC
For me, a rebuild of libcdr-0.1.7-7.fc37 worked.

Comment 2 David Tardon 2022-11-22 07:38:22 UTC
This package is already present in RHEL 9 / CentOS Stream 9.

Comment 3 Robert Scheck 2022-11-22 08:43:24 UTC
I'm sorry, but I can not find libcdr-devel to build scribus.

Comment 4 Robert Scheck 2022-11-22 09:23:24 UTC
Ah, this is one of the RHEL peculiarities. I've filed bug #2144763 to get libcdr-devel added to CRB 9 (and thus later to RHEL 9). For the mean time, I'm changing this RHBZ to request the short-term solution as per https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/epel/epel-policy-missing-sub-packages/#short_term to hopefully get scribus before RHEL 9.2 into EPEL 9. Please let me know if you are not interested in the short-term solution, then I'll work on this myself.
