Description Michel Alexandre Salim 2006-11-11 05:50:28 UTC
Description of problem:

When headphones are plugged into the laptop, the speakers are not disabled, with
sound coming out of both headphones and speakers.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 x86_64
2.6.18-1.2835.fc6 x86_64

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start sound-making app
2. Plug in headphones

Actual results:

Speakers not deactivated

Expected results:

Speakers deactivated once headphones plugged in

Additional info:
This is similar to #199997. The Sony VAIO, like the Macbook, uses the
snd_hda_intel ALSA driver.

lspci describes the audio device as
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition
Audio Controller (rev 02)

while the OSS mixer shows it as a Realtek ALC262
