Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 0.8.7 How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. dnf update Actual results: Error: Problem: cannot install the best update candidate for package cegui-devel-0.8.7-25.fc37.x86_64 - problem with installed package cegui-devel-0.8.7-25.fc37.x86_64 - package cegui-devel-0.8.7-25.fc37.x86_64 requires liblua-5.3.so()(64bit), but none of the providers can be installed - cannot install the best update candidate for package lua-libs-5.4.4-4.fc37.x86_64 - cannot install both lua-libs-5.4.4-7.fc37.x86_64 and lua-libs-5.4.4-4.fc37.x86_64 Expected results: updates should proceed Additional info: adding --exclude=lua* to dnf allows other updates to proceed.
Thank you for reporting this, this is caused by a recent lua update and I'm preparing an update fixing this now. May I ask why you have cegui-devel installed ? Note that Fedora's package is out of date with upstream and it is being dropped starting with Fedora 38 because there are no longer any Fedora packages depending on it. The reason that it is being dropped instead of being updated to the latest upstream is that cegui upstream also no longer appears to be active, so it is best not to use cegui for any new code development.
