Description Jonathan Wright 2023-01-05 17:17:22 UTC
Please branch and build python-munkres in epel9.

If you do not wish to maintain python-munkres in epel9,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package;
please add the epel-packagers-sig group through
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-munkres/addgroup
and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: jonathanspw).

I can be the primary contact for EPEL (FAS: jonathanspw).

Comment 1 Jonathan Wright 2023-01-05 17:22:07 UTC
The current rawhide branch builds against EPEL9 successfully.

Comment 2 Parag Nemade 2023-01-06 05:56:08 UTC
This package is already part if RHEL-9 Buildroot repository.

Comment 3 Jonathan Wright 2023-01-10 02:44:02 UTC
That is not usable. Please package it in EPEL9 or add my as a co-maintainer.

Comment 4 Parag Nemade 2023-01-11 10:12:06 UTC
Agree. We will need this package in EPEL9 as well.

Fabian,
Can you please help by creating EPEL9 branch and building package in it?

Comment 5 Jonathan Wright 2023-01-23 22:22:46 UTC
Any progress?

Comment 6 Carl George 🤠 2023-02-17 04:38:48 UTC
Parag, if neither you or Fabian have time to build this package in EPEL9, please add Jonathan (jonathanspw), myself (carlwgeorge), or the Python Packaging SIG (python-packagers-sig) as co-maintainers to take care of this.

Comment 7 Parag Nemade 2023-02-18 00:03:46 UTC
I can build this package using my provenpackager access as I am not the member of this package at all.

Requested epel9 branch https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/51255

Comment 8 Parag Nemade 2023-02-18 00:04:59 UTC
Ah request got processed quickly with comment as "pnemade is not a maintainer of the python-munkres package"

How to resolve this issue now? If i get branch created, I can build this package.

Comment 9 Carl George 🤠 2023-02-18 06:15:05 UTC
Parag, my mistake for needsinfo-ing you, I thought you were a maintainer of this package based on your previous comments. Proven packager permissions are insufficient to request epel branches. We've had issues in the past of proven packagers building things for epel and then never touching them again. The maintainers of the package need to agree to epel maintenance, or add co-maintainers who are willing to handle it. I'm fixing the needsinfo now for the current maintainers of the package.

Comment 10 Parag Nemade 2023-02-19 08:29:33 UTC
Thank you Carl for the information about who can create epel branch.

Akira,
Can you please request epel9 branch and build this package in epel9?

Thanks.
