Created attachment 1937041 [details] Screencap of Fedora FreeCAD Description of problem: The Fedora version of FreeCAD has not displayed the Vertex points in TechDraw drawings properly and this prevents a user from placing measurments on the drawing. No Vertex points prevent the user from placing the dimesions on many parts of more complicated drawings. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): freecad-0.20.1-1.fc37.1.x86_64 How reproducible: 100% of the time. Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install FreeCAD and create or open a drawing. 2.Go to TechDraw work bench and insert the various views you want to use. 3.Ensure View Frames are ON. Actual results: No Vertex points visible in the drawings. Expected results: Vertex points visible in the drawings. Additional info: Downloaded the Snap version of FreeCAD and the Vertex points are visible. This is the same case as with Fedora 35 last month. There has been discussion about an issue with KDE but I tried the Fedora FreeCAD in both Gnome and KDE on this computer in a test account. I have tested for this problem in Fedora 35 on a different computer. I have seen the Vertex points on Windows computers. Just a note that the Snap version is one 20.2 while Fedora is 20.1. It isn't related to the version as I have screen caps from October 2022 of this problem and both versions were 20.1. I am using KDE with Wayland now but was using Xorg in 2022 with Fedora 35.
This bug is across a couple of distributions as of last year. Here is a thread on the FreeCAD forum. https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=67267 I have tried to run the test workbench and come up with a couple of errors. Not sure if they are related or not.
This may be a similar problem to 2062454. I need to update to a newer version of OpenCASCADE but it requires a newer version of tbb so there's a bit of a dependency chain problem right now. I'm working on updating opencascade to 7.6.3 which does not require the newer version of tbb.

I guess there is not going to be a fix for F37 as this is closed. It is still an issue in 37 which this bug if filed against.

Okay. I will test it out.
Installed the version from Fedora Testing and it didn't work any better. It is not related to FreeCAD version number but some other issue. There are still no vertex points in the drawings which makes it impossible to add dimensions in more complicated drawings. sudo dnf upgrade --enablerepo=updates-testing --refresh --advisory=FEDORA-2023-3b4fb0d55e Here is the TechDraw tutorial that explains the issue better. https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Basic_TechDraw_Tutorial Here is the file from the tutorial for testing. https://github.com/FreeCAD/Examples/blob/master/Basic_TechDraw_Tutorial_Example_Files/Basic_TechDraw_Tutorial.fcstd This tutorial doesn't have holes and things that make it even more complicated. The snap version still works as expected. This bug needs to be reopened.
I'm not sure what to do at this point since I've upgraded all packages I can. Perhaps the forums can be of help now that we're not running such an old version of opencascade.
I thank you for trying. It seems to be related to how TechDraw is displayed on the screen. I have the same issue in both Gnome and KDE on the machines I have tried. It may not be any of the FreeCAD files but related to something else on Fedora. I do know that the Snap version works as expected and I use that as a backup for the TechDraw stuff. I don't have enough knowledge on how to see what is being done in the background to find the issue. If there was a way to test between the Snap version and the desktop version for different calls, I would be willing to try some how. I will be using FreeCAD for a project over the next month or two and TechDraw will be a big part of it. The one issue I had with the missing work bench image was fixed by an update.
FWIW, The appimage version of FreeCAD has a working TechDraw.
