The x86_64 of ganglia, ganglia-gmond and ganglia-gmetad of this `initial epel9 test build`, are tested in my host. It works fine!!!

Of course, due to changes in the basic software environment, ganglia-web cannot work normally in RHEL9, as the same in REHL8. That was not introduced during the build process. If wanting to run ganglia-web directly in RHEL9, we must modify the source code which is no longer actively maintained now.

However, we can still solve this issue by running ganglia-web inside a docker container in RHEL9. Seeing: https://github.com/berlin2123/ganglia-web-docker/tree/main/ganglia-web-centos7

Comment 4 Terje Røsten 2023-01-12 08:07:57 UTC
ganglia-web should work in RHEL8 and RHEL9 too, seems a minor fix is needed.

Hi again,

can you test this set of packages:

 https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=96058775

ganglia-web should work on el9 with these.

I have tested it. ganglia-web is not works in rhel9.

Notice that the current code of ganglia-web (3.7.5) is writen based on php-5.6, which is much diff with php8 in rhel9. Even for the newer un-relaese code in github: https://github.com/ganglia/ganglia-web

Comment 8 mx 2023-01-12 18:58:06 UTC
I can't expect to build and use the ganglia-web inside rhel9, untill its source code is ready.

that is why I choose to run ganglia-web as a container.

A new release tag is published for ganglia-web today, in https://github.com/ganglia/ganglia-web/tags.
It works fine in RHEL9 (php8) and REHL8 (php7) now. It is recommended to build now.

Comment 12 mx 2024-02-24 09:54:21 UTC
