RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Debarshi Ray 2023-01-24 12:32:54 UTC
Currently, this doesn't work:
$ toolbox create --distro rhel --release 9.1

... because Toolbx only knows about the UBI 8 images.

Comment 1 Debarshi Ray 2023-01-30 14:53:47 UTC
I just realized that we don't have a bug for the 4.0 stream of the container-tools module for RHEL 8. I filed bug 2165610 for the 4.0 stream. We can use this bug for the rolling stream.

Comment 5 Petr Schindler 2023-02-12 23:14:57 UTC
All our tests pass. No regression found. --distro and --release works with rhel 9 and 7 images.

Comment 6 Debarshi Ray 2023-02-13 14:23:34 UTC
(In reply to Petr Schindler from comment #5)
> --distro and --release works with rhel 9 and 7 images.

Umm... it only works with RHEL 9 and 8 images. We don't have any images published for RHEL 7, so it's not supposed to work there.

Comment 7 Petr Schindler 2023-04-27 12:39:55 UTC
Sorry. I meant rhel 8 image.

Comment 8 Debarshi Ray 2023-04-27 13:04:55 UTC

Okay, that's what I thought, but still wanted to be sure. :)

Thanks for everything.
