Description of problem: Openbabel's BABEL_LIBDIR variable has the incorrect path. This variable (defined in /etc/profile.d/openbabel.sh and openbabel.csh) points to a non-existent directory: /usr/lib64/openbabel. The correct path should be /usr/lib64/openbabel3 Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): openbabel-3.1.1-15.fc37.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. obabel "-:C" -o svg -O methane.svg Actual results: ============================== *** Open Babel Error in LoadAllPlugins Unable to find OpenBabel plugins. Try setting the BABEL_LIBDIR environment variable. obabel: cannot write output format! Open Babel 3.1.1 -- Sep 29 2022 -- 00:00:00 Usage: obabel [-i<input-type>] <infilename> [-o<output-type>] -O<outfilename> [Options] Try -H option for more information. Expected results: 1 molecule converted methane.svg file is generated. Additional info: If you alter the variable or the file to point to the correct path, the program will work correctly. This also impacts the openbabel GUI, which will look strange due to plugins not being loaded.
This was noted in bug 2112710 which was erroneously closed with the last update.
