Description Jonathan Wright 2023-03-02 18:03:11 UTC
Please branch and build python-markupsafe in epel9.

If you do not wish to maintain python-markupsafe in epel9,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package;
please add the epel-packagers-sig group through
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-markupsafe/addgroup
and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: jonathanspw).

I can be the primary contact for EPEL (FAS: jonathanspw).

The current rawhide branch builds successfully against EPEL9.

Comment 2 Miro Hrončok 2023-03-02 18:15:01 UTC
The package exists in RHEL 9 AppStream, hence it cannot be imported into EPEL 9.

$ repoquery -q --repo=RHEL9-AppStream python3-markupsafe
python3-markupsafe-0:1.1.1-12.el9.x86_64

$ repoquery -q --repo=c9s-appstream python3-markupsafe
python3-markupsafe-0:1.1.1-12.el9.x86_64

https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/rpms/python-markupsafe

PS the link you provided is a rawhide build, not epel9.

Comment 3 Jonathan Wright 2023-03-02 18:17:01 UTC
Bahh I missed that it was there, just too old of a version. This might be fun.

Sorry about that brain fart.
