Description Lukas Brabec 2023-03-07 09:04:06 UTC
Description of problem:

This is a tracking bug for Blocker Review Purposes, please comment in Boxes Issue tracker upstream, see

https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-photos/-/issues/205

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-photos-43.0-3.fc38.x86_64
gegl04-0.4.38-3.fc38.x86_64

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a photo
2. Edit the photo
3. Crop the photo, Save
4. Edit the photo again (either right now or after the app restart, doesn't matter)
5. Under Colors, change either Shadows or Highlights

gnome-photos goes unresponsive and exhaust all memory

Actual results:
gnome-photos consumes all memory and is killed by oom killer

Expected results:
gnome-photos doesn't consume all memory and works as expected

Comment 1 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2023-03-07 09:05:38 UTC
Proposed as a Blocker for 38-final by Fedora user lbrabec using the blocker tracking app because:

 https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_38_Final_Release_Criteria#Default_application_functionality

This violates the Default Application functionality criterion.

Comment 2 Kamil Páral 2023-03-10 11:53:20 UTC
This is basically a duplicate of bug 2130937. Let's keep it open until the blocker vote is decided, then merge those two.

Comment 3 Adam Williamson 2023-03-12 17:13:52 UTC
-4 blocker / +3 FE in https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/blocker-review/issue/1079 , marking rejected/accepted.
