Hi All,

This is my first time trying to create a package for a project we started.

Project Link: https://github.com/rbalman/cfn-compose

With the spec file I was able to install the package on my local machine. If there are any improvements required, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hi Yadav

As this is your first package, I advise you to take a look at the following links to understand how an RPM package is built and what the fedora packaging guidelines look like.

- Specfile structure: https://rpm-packaging-guide.github.io/)
- Fedora packaging hello world: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/Packaging_Tutorial_GNU_Hello/
- Fedora packaging guidelines: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/
- Fedora go-lang packaging guideline: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/Golang/

The packaging guidelines specify how software needs to be packaged to be accepted into fedora.

You also need to get sponsored by a sponsor to be able to release your package in fedora. Here are some more informational links about this process:

- Sponsor policy: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Packager_sponsor_policy/
- Tips on how to get sponsored: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/How_to_Get_Sponsored_into_the_Packager_Group/

I know it is a lot to read but everyone has to start somewhere :D
I am not a sponsor but you can write to me if you have a question about the guidelines or other fedora packaging related stuff.

This is an automatic check from review-stats script.

This review request ticket hasn't been updated for some time. We're sorry
it is taking so long. If you're still interested in packaging this software
into Fedora repositories, please respond to this comment clearing the
NEEDINFO flag.

You may want to update the specfile and the src.rpm to the latest version
available and to propose a review swap on Fedora devel mailing list to increase
chances to have your package reviewed. If this is your first package and you
need a sponsor, you may want to post some informal reviews. Read more at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_get_sponsored_into_the_packager_group.

Without any reply, this request will shortly be considered abandoned
and will be closed.
Thank you for your patience.
