While still working fine with Fedora 37, xfce4-screensaver-4.16.0-9.fc38 is broken for unknown reason in F38 beta. When the screen has been locked, the unlock dialogue shows up for only fractions of a second after mouse movement, if at all. A general protection fault reported by the kernel can be found with dmesg or journalctl. To regain access to the desktop I have to switch to a VT and run "xfce4-screensaver-command --deactivate" or simply kill the process. Also, while still usable, xfce4-screensaver-preferences crashes on close, with a segfault reported by the kernel. Other recent bug reports in rhbz are likely related to the same issue. After reading https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/xfce4-screensaver/-/issues/122 I compiled the latest upstream version 4.18.1 and it fixed those issues also for me.
I will update all the new releases in the next day or two.
