And on my system:

rpm -qf /usr/lib64/libboost_regex.so.1.78.0
boost-regex-1.78.0-11.fc38.x86_64

Does sudo dnf install boost-regex help?

Comment 7 Cliff 2023-04-07 21:29:03 UTC
Same error, I have that library installed already

[~]$ sudo dnf install boost-regex

What does "which wesnoth" give you?

Comment 11 Cliff 2023-04-12 18:08:29 UTC
Please close this now - that hint clued me in that there was an old version from source in /usr/local/bin. When I removed that I was able to get into the game.

Thanks for helping me figure it out.

Comment 12 Gwyn Ciesla 2023-04-12 18:11:33 UTC
Excellent! Anytime.
