python-colcon-core fails to build with the latest setuptools version. This report is automated and not very verbose, but we'll try to get back here with details. For the build logs, see: https://copr-be.cloud.fedoraproject.org/results/cstratak/setuptools-67.5.1/fedora-rawhide-x86_64/05722698-python-colcon-core/ For all our attempts to build python-colcon-core with the latest setuptools, see: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/cstratak/setuptools-67.5.1/package/python-colcon-core/ Let us know here if you have any questions.
Workaround PR: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-colcon-core/pull-request/3
Error snippet: /usr/lib/python3.11/site-packages/_pytest/assertion/rewrite.py:168: in exec_module exec(co, module.__dict__) colcon_core/entry_point.py:12: in <module> from pkg_resources import iter_entry_points /usr/lib/python3.11/site-packages/pkg_resources/__init__.py:121: in <module> warnings.warn("pkg_resources is deprecated as an API", DeprecationWarning) E DeprecationWarning: pkg_resources is deprecated as an API
I've pushed the workaround. Keeping this bug open, as while this has been worked around and the package will not fail to build, the issue is still there.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 39 development cycle. Changing version to 39.
