Actually it is because unable to fetch source from http://www.kotnet.org/~skimo/nvi since kotnet.org is a student orgnization and seems disappeared in 2014. But we can get alternative source from https://repo.or.cz/nvi.git or Debian(NixOS gets it from there) or slackware etc. And also replace /usr/lib/rpm/config.{guess,sub} with /usr/lib/rpm/redhat/config.{guess,sub} Fedora Account System Username: dongdigua

It is orphaned and retired for "Failed to build from source" Actually it is because unable to fetch source from http://www.kotnet.org/~skimo/nvi that's wrong - it's because it fails to build becasue of rotten code koji don't download sources -------------------------- using Debian or Slackware as source is nonsense - both are downstreams https://repo.or.cz/nvi.git shows the last two cosmetical commits 3 years ago and the last serious commits 7 years ago what's the point of riding this dead horse again? i mean aren't there enough maintained vi incarnations?
Upstream appears to be here (now?): https://sites.google.com/a/bostic.com/keithbostic/vi Keith Bostic's domain directs you to this location.
(In reply to Harald Reindl from comment #2) (sorry for my late reply, busy at high school recently) > using Debian or Slackware as source is nonsense - both are downstreams so I should use https://repo.or.cz/nvi.git/commit/ca4dfd779807f7bd26a7e0297eba11b0436ae6bc as upstream? > > https://repo.or.cz/nvi.git shows the last two cosmetical commits 3 years ago > and the last serious commits 7 years ago > > what's the point of riding this dead horse again? > i mean aren't there enough maintained vi incarnations? I just want it to be alive again, other distros have this package, so I want fedora have it too.
