Read the logs Actual results: [5590:5590:0415/162728.470009:FATAL:gpu_init.cc(542)] Passthrough is not supported, GL is egl, ANGLE is [5500:5500:0415/162728.770166:ERROR:gpu_process_host.cc(942)] GPU process exited unexpectedly: exit_code=133 Expected results: No flicker, no errors. Two remarks: 1. the original issue still happens if I configure Chromium to use Wayland (I checked with lg in GNOME) 2. with chromium-112.0.5615.121-2.fc38, I still see "gpu_init.cc(525)] Passthrough is not supported, GL is egl, ANGLE is", but not the GPU process crash. I can confirm that Google Maps renders fast, but I didn't check anything else.
Okay, that message seems to be related to ANGLE: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=976283. I guess it's fine, then.
