Description Daniel Rusek 2023-04-20 13:30:10 UTC
After upgrading to Fedora 38 (from 37), the tray icon of HexChat is now displayed as empty. Clicking the empty space however still opens the correct menu / HexChat window.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use clean Fedora 38 system with the AppIndicator extension installed and enabled.
2. Install HexChat and run it.
3. See the tray icon area.

Actual Results:
HexChat tray indicator is displayed without any icon.

Expected Results:
HexChat tray indicator is displayed with a correct icon.

Additional info:
hexchat-2.16.1-2.fc38.x86_64
(However I don't think that this is a regression in HexChat.)

I have just tried to reproduce this and for me the hexchat icon shows just fine in a gnome-shell Wayland session with all F38 updated to all the latest pkg versions.

Can you try installing all the latest updates and then try again ?

Are you perhaps running gnome-shell in an Xorg/X11 session ?

I am not sure what changed, but the icon now also displays fine on my (Wayland) session. I am closing this bz.
