The version delivered with Fedora 38 is the 0.22 which is incompatible with Gnome 44, it has to be updated to the 0.23 to get it work again.

I have created a pull request that updates to latest version, which is compatible with Gnome 44 https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/gnome-pomodoro/pull-request/2
