mate-settings-daemon-1.26.1-1.fc37.x86_64 crashes in g_settings_schema_key_init() on tapping the mute, volume down, or volume up keys (which share F1, F2, and F3 on my Lenovo ThinkPad T15p Gen 3). The keys worked until about a week ago. My laptop has a 4k screen, and sometimes the crash also has the side-effect of making desktop icon labels and desktop menus huge. The speaker volume panel applet works. On crashes, /var/log/messages shows May 25 06:16:35 scslaptop55 abrt-notification[58299]: Process 2523 (mate-settings-daemon) crashed in g_settings_schema_key_init() May 25 06:16:35 scslaptop55 audit[58213]: ANOM_ABEND auid=214 uid=214 gid=214 ses=489 pid=58213 comm="mate-settings-d" exe="/usr/libexec/mate-settings-daemon" sig=5 res=1 A few other mate-settings-daemon crashes reported in the last two weeks might all be related: Bug 2204466 - [abrt] mate-settings-daemon: g_slist_foreach(): mate-settings-daemon killed by SIGABRT Bug 2196110 - [abrt] mate-settings-daemon: pa_xmalloc0(): mate-settings-daemon killed by SIGSEGV Bug 2195884 - [abrt] mate-settings-daemon: g_variant_type_info_check(): mate-settings-daemon killed by SIGSEGV Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Log in to an account with Mate Desktop 2. Tap mute, volume up, or volume down key Actual Results: The volume remains unchanged, but an error flashes inside the Mate panel too quickly to read, and /var/log/messages records a crash in mate-settings-daemon. Expected Results: The volume to change and no errors. Thanks! I ran dnfdragora then logged out and in again, and I can confirm that it is fixed in mate-settings-daemon-1.26.1-2.fc37.x86_64 .
