Description James 2023-05-27 13:44:41 UTC
With no other variant specified, Red Hat Mono shows up as italic. It's impossible to select Red Hat Mono Regular e.g. in GNOME Terminal, Gedit.

redhat-mono-fonts-4.0.3-2.fc38.noarch
fontconfig-2.14.2-1.fc38.x86_64
freetype-2.13.0-2.fc38.x86_64

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install redhat-mono-fonts.
2. Launch Gedit.
3. Open Gedit preferences, attempt to select Red Hat Mono Regular as its font.
Actual Results:
Italic variant used - see screenshot.

Expected Results:
Upright, regular weight variant used.

This should be fixed in redhat-fonts-4.0.3-5.

Comment 3 James 2024-02-21 23:32:57 UTC
The issue is still present with the VF variant in redhat-mono-vf-fonts-4.0.3-7.fc40.noarch.
