Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Akshay Kapse 2023-06-05 17:35:51 UTC
Description of problem:

Non-Admin Users cannot Manage Columns on 'All Hosts' Page of Satellite 6.13, no matter which roles has been assigned to them.

The same user will be able to Manage Column, when you mark the user as "ADMIN".

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
100 %

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a user "NA-USER" on Satellite GUI but don't mark it as Admin.

2. Assign all the Roles to the user "NA-USER" but don't mark it as "Admin" and then try to Manage (Enable/Disable) Columns on 'All Hosts' page.

3. After clicking on "Save" button it just stays in the same position, no loading of page, no changes.

Actual results:
- Unable to save the changes made under "Manage Columns".

Expected results:
- Should be able to save the changes made under "Manage Columns".

Additional info:
If I mark the same user as Admin, it will be able to apply the changes.

Comment 1 Adam Ruzicka 2023-06-07 09:10:04 UTC
Only one of the PRs linked to the upstream issue landed in 6.13, we still need to pick https://github.com/theforeman/foreman/pull/9545 . 6.14 and newer seem to already have all the patches.

Comment 3 Pavel Novotny 2024-01-08 12:19:49 UTC
Verified in Satellite 6.15 snap 5:
satellite-6.15.0-2.el8sat.noarch

Non-admin users can also save the hosts table column preferences.
