Description Yevhen Popok 2023-06-08 08:14:00 UTC
For now MediaTek MT7922 chipset (also known as RZ616) with VID/PID 0489/e0e4 only works for WiFi but not Bluetooth
This chipset can be found in some popular late 2022 AMD laptops (e.g. Acer Aspire A515-47, Asus Rog Stix G17, Lenovo Thinkpad Z13 etc).

Bluetooth support for this device was added in kernel 6.4.
Specifically with commit "Bluetooth: Add VID/PID 0489/e0e4 for MediaTek MT7922"
https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/125ede3afe5830c3e748dbc66098b7b640899321

Patch can be applied and works with kernel 6.3 but as of kernel v6.3.6 upstream didn't backport it yet
https://github.com/gregkh/linux/commits/linux-6.3.y/drivers/bluetooth/btusb.c

Please apply patch to the current stable kernel 6.3

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Try to enable Bluetooth
Actual Results:
Bluetooth can't be enabled because device is currently not supported by the kernel

Expected Results:
Bluetooth gets enabled and works.
