Description Zdenek Dohnal 2023-06-28 08:50:13 UTC
This bug was initially created as a copy of Bug #2217283

I am copying this bug because Fedora is affected as well

Description of problem:

Running "cancel -x <job>" does not remove job files from
  /var/spool/cups.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

  cups-2.2.6-51.el8

How reproducible:

  100%

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Run "cancel -x <job>" for a valid job id currently in a queue.

Actual results:

Job files in /var/spool/cups should be removed

Expected results:

  Job files are not removed.

Additional info:

The command "cancel -x " adds "purge-jobs true" to the Cancel-Job
operation; however, the correct attribute to use for Cancel-job is
"purge-job" (singular), not "purge-jobs" (plural). As a result, job
files are not removed from /var/spool/cups when "cancel -x " is
  executed.

Upstream PR with patch that resolves the issue

Use "purge-job" instead of "purge-jobs" when canceling a single job
