From attachment 1976730 [details]:

> kwin_wayland_wrapper[1812]: XXX fail to create fbo.
> kwin_wayland_wrapper[1812]: (EE) glamor0: GL error: GL_INVALID_OPERATION error generated. <image> and <target> are incompatible

Considering this is with NVIDIA proprietary closed-source driver, this is most likely https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/-/issues/1444

Comment 14 annoyingrain5 2023-07-20 13:49:50 UTC
Important note I should have included in the original report, when the system is running for an while running other apps, at some point the other apps can be opened fine, I have no idea what triggers this behaviour.

Comment 15 Olivier Fourdan 2023-07-20 13:50:48 UTC
It looks like you are using NVIDIA version 535.54.03, does version 535.86.05 released a couple of days ago help with the issue by any chance?

Comment 16 annoyingrain5 2023-07-22 03:09:37 UTC
Sadly this did not fix my issue

Comment 17 annoyingrain5 2023-07-22 04:13:48 UTC
I can work around this issue in the short term by pcistub-ing my old 1050ti gpu, but this isn't a suitable long term solution for me
