This is a tracking bug for Change: Improve Default Font Handling with default-fonts metapackages
For more details, see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/ImproveDefaultFontHandling

This aims to make default fonts easier to update and install for all the variants on Fedora and reduce the maintenance costs for them.

Comment 1 Adam Williamson 2023-08-21 21:12:15 UTC
Not sure if this is MODIFIED or ON_QA; the new packages are created and in the repos, and comps and workstation-ostree-config have been updated, but I don't see that "fontconfig package default font dependency to be updated" has happened. Not sure if that's actually important, but setting to MODIFIED in case; Parag, if you can check this, that'd be great.

All this Change implementation is done by Akira. Lets check with him.

Comment 3 Akira TAGOH 2023-08-22 03:30:26 UTC
I have to update the Change. we don't need to update the dependency in fontconfig. current implementation in langpacks assures the upgrading path. So it is testable and all the planned work has been done.

F39 was released on November 7th, so I am closing this tracker. If this Change was not completed, please notify me ASAP.
