Description Eduard Abdullin 2023-08-25 14:13:35 UTC
Hello!
I tried to install "python2-koji-hub-plugins" package from epel-7 repository, but it failed with the following error:

 Problem 1: conflicting requests
  - nothing provides python2-qpid-proton needed by python2-koji-hub-plugins-1.21.1-1.el7.noarch

"python2-qpid-proton" exists in epel aarch64 repository, but not in x86_64 repository.

Comment 1 Kevin Fenzi 2023-08-25 17:23:39 UTC
This is due to qpid-proton in epel7 moving to python3, but koji not.

At this point I would stongly advise you to not deploy any koji hubs with epel7. python2 support no longer exists in upstream koji.

I don't think there's much we could do here aside from retiring koji in epel7, but there's still people using the client.

EPEL 7 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2024-06-30.\n\nEPEL 7 is no longer maintained, which means that it\nwill not receive any further security or bug fix updates.\n As a result we are closing this bug.
