It looks like the current Rawhide package for python-h5io would build unmodified for EPEL9. I think we could maintain an EPEL9 branch for this package without additional workload except one more build and one more Bodhi update for each patch release. This bug is just to give you an opportunity to comment before I request the branch. Feel free to set me as the EPEL bug assignee on the project page. Reproducible: Always
Sounds good, please proceed as needed :)
(In reply to Ankur Sinha (FranciscoD) from comment #1) > Sounds good, please proceed as needed :) Thanks—but oops, I only have commit access via the neuro-sig packager group, which isn’t enough to request the branch. Could you please request it, and I’ll do the rest?
Sure, I tried, but it didn't work: $ fedpkg request-branch --repo python-h5io epel9 https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/56083 -> error. Did I do this wrong? I've updated neuro-sig rights to admin on the package too now, just so it isn't blocked on me.
Seems like a transient network issue. Maybe close the fedora-scm-requests issue and try again? Apparently even group admin is not enough to request a branch anymore? I’m pretty sure that it used to be possible to do this without being an individual maintainer. https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/56084
Looks like manual intervention on https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/56083 saved the day.
