I ran an offline upgrade on a F39 KDE Plasma installation with updates-testing enabled. systemd-254.2-1.fc39 was in the update. The systemd-254.1-2.fc39 postun scriplet failed with the following output during the upgrade. Sep 07 22:03:17 dnf-3[882]: Cleanup : systemd-254.1-2.fc39.x86_64 99/122 Sep 07 22:03:26 dnf-3[882]: Running scriptlet: systemd-254.1-2.fc39.x86_64 99/122 Sep 07 22:03:26 dnf-3[882]: /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.l02sK7: line 16: fg: no job control Sep 07 22:03:26 dnf-3[882]: warning: %postun(systemd-254.1-2.fc39.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 1 Sep 07 22:03:26 dnf-3[882]: Error in POSTUN scriptlet in rpm package systemd Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Created attachment 1987670 [details] journal of offline upgrade boot with systemd scriplet failure I'm attaching the journal from the boot of the offline upgrade with the systemd postun scriptlet failure.
This is fixed in the next build, but it's blocked because of the beta freeze. I'll ask for an exception.
On second thought, I don't think this qualifies for a freeze exception. The bug is not very significant: the reload of user managers doesn't work, but that is a new feature, i.e. it never worked. I think it's better if the update goes in after Beta.
