Comment 2 Christian Krause 2023-09-12 22:52:46 UTC
Pymodbus does not include redis, it only refers to the redis library via import in an example file in the sources (which is not packaged). Closing as NOTABUG.

@reporter: since it seems to be ongoing that redis CVE bugreports are filed against pymodbus, please have a look why that happens. Please see:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2174654#c2
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2174654#c3
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2221861#c2

all erroneously filed redis CVE bug reports against pymodbus component:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?classification=Fedora&columnlist=product%2Ccomponent%2Cassigned_to%2Cbug_status%2Cshort_desc%2Cchangeddate%2Cbug_severity&component=pymodbus&order=status%2C%20assigned_to%2C%20id%2C%20&product=Fedora&product=Fedora%20EPEL&query_format=advanced&short_desc=CVE&short_desc_type=allwordssubstr

Comment 3 Marian Rehak 2023-10-03 11:19:39 UTC
Christian Krause, I apologize. This is due to our tooling-generated component list. We are working on improving this situation. The new tooling doesn't consider Pymodbus to be affected by redis issues.
