Description Adam Williamson 2023-09-12 16:29:22 UTC
https://pagure.io/fesco/issue/3066 seems to be trending solidly in the direction that FESCo will approve activating the contigency plan for https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/AnacondaWebUIforFedoraWorkstation and reverting to the old GTK UI for F39 Workstation live, so I'm filing this bug to get out ahead of the process.

We believe we'll need to do the following:

1. Build gnome-initial-setup with all the webUI changes reverted (in progress at https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=2288286 )
2. Drop anaconda-webui from the kickstart
3. *Possibly* change something to bring back the old Welcome screen (we're not sure if any change is needed for that yet, will find out in pre-tests)
4. Update openQA test flow logic again to expect the older paths for F39 (still expect the webUI paths for Rawhide)

I'm proposing this as a blocker, not on the usual blocker review process, but just to get it on the tracker; I will ask FESCo to formally designate this bug a blocker (as it has the power to do) if the proposal is approved as expected.

Reproducible: Always

FESCo designates this as an accepted blocker, per our fast-track acceptance policy of https://pagure.io/fesco/issue/3066.

Comment 2 Fedora Update System 2023-09-12 18:06:52 UTC
FEDORA-2023-73c4f1a802 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 39. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2023-73c4f1a802

Comment 3 Adam Williamson 2023-09-12 18:07:41 UTC
https://pagure.io/fedora-kickstarts/pull-request/985 is the kickstarts PR. We should push the update stable and merge the PR at the same time.

Comment 6 Adam Williamson 2023-09-12 23:01:42 UTC
This should now be fixed, but will close after we do a candidate compose and verify it comes out as expected.

Comment 7 Adam Williamson 2023-09-13 06:24:24 UTC
https://openqa.fedoraproject.org/tests/2136228 shows we definitely got old UI.
