Description Aman Agrawal 2023-09-15 07:34:26 UTC
Description of problem (please be detailed as possible and provide log
snippests):

Version of all relevant components (if applicable):
ODF 4.14.0-132.stable
OCP 4.14.0-0.nightly-2023-09-02-132842
ACM 2.9.0-DOWNSTREAM-2023-08-24-09-30-12
ceph version 17.2.6-138.el9cp (b488c8dad42b2ecffcd96f3d76eeeecce48b8590) quincy (stable)

Does this issue impact your ability to continue to work with the product
(please explain in detail what is the user impact)?

Is there any workaround available to the best of your knowledge?

Rate from 1 - 5 the complexity of the scenario you performed that caused this
bug (1 - very simple, 5 - very complex)?

Can this issue reproducible?

Can this issue reproduce from the UI?

If this is a regression, please provide more details to justify this:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. On a RDR setup, configure DR monitoring dashboard by whitelisting below 2 metrics
ceph_rbd_mirror_snapshot_sync_bytes
ceph_rbd_mirror_snapshot_snapshots
2. From the ACM console, Data Services --> Data policies --> click on info. icon next to Snapshots synced under Utilization area
3. The text says "The y-axis shows the number of snapshots taken. It represents the rate of difference in snapshot creation count during a failover." which is incorrect as snapshot creation happens before failover/relocate is performed when the mirroring is enabled and not during a failover operation.

Actual results: The note in info. icon next to Snapshots synced graph is incorrect

Expected results: Please re-phrase it to have the correct info. on when snapshot is taken.

Low severity issue, moving out

Comment 3 Aman Agrawal 2023-09-18 11:52:28 UTC
Hi Nishanth,

The bug isn't blocker for sure but it's crucical for RDR. Could we pls reconsider it in 4.14?
We already had a discussion with Gowtham/Timothy/Chandan/Annette on it's importance for RDR GA?

Thanks!

Comment 8 Mudit Agarwal 2023-09-26 09:08:40 UTC
Do we have an ETA for this?

Comment 10 Aman Agrawal 2023-10-18 06:16:46 UTC
With ODF 4.14.0-150.stable, the updated text is

*** The graph displays the total number of block volumes inbound snapshots, by cluster, from all ApplicationSet and Subscription type applications. Applications that use file volumes are excluded in the total snapshot count. ***

which LGTM.
