Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Daniel Alley 2023-09-22 17:32:22 UTC
Description of problem:

The django-import-export package is a critical piece of Pulp's import/export functionality, and version 3.1.0 provides a few performance improvements which would benefit us. e.g.

https://github.com/django-import-export/django-import-export/pull/1542
https://github.com/django-import-export/django-import-export/pull/1539

Import/Export performance has come up in a number of recent BZs.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): All supported versions 6.11+

How reproducible:

Unsure, there are a lot of variables at play, but these would be improvements rather than "bugfixes", yet improvements to this feature are nonetheless critical to some customers operating large scale Satellite installations.

Comment 1 Brad Buckingham 2023-10-30 11:29:29 UTC
Bulk setting Target Milestone = 6.15.0 where sat-6.15.0+ is set.

Comment 3 Ian Ballou 2023-10-30 20:48:35 UTC
A hotfix is now available for Satellite 6.11.5 on RHEL 7 and RHEL 8. Please contact Red Hat support for installation instructions.

Comment 6 Lukas Pramuk 2023-12-12 18:31:53 UTC
VERIFIED.

@Satellite 6.15.0 Snap 2.1
python3.11-django-import-export-3.1.0-3.el8pc.noarch

by the following simple command:

# rpm -qa *django-import-export
python3.11-django-import-export-3.1.0-3.el8pc.noarch

>>> for both Satellite and Capsule there is now python3.11-django-import-export-3.1.0
