plasma-workspace-5.27.8-2.fc40 installs xdg-desktop-portal-kde as dependency.

Please, make xdg-desktop-portal-kde as weak dependency what makes it possible not to use this feature if it not needed.

It is a mandatory dependency for plasma-workspace-wayland. Things don't function correctly without it.

I use X11 session but plasma-workspace-wayland and xdg-desktop-portal-kde can't be removed.

Removing plasma-workspace-wayland also removes plasma-desktop plasma-workspace

Yes, Plasma Wayland is the primary supported experience for Fedora KDE. It's been that way since Fedora 34.

plasma-workspace-wayland сan be pre-installed by default.
But since the plasma-workspace-x11 package is also available it should be possible to switch to X11 session with removing plasma-workspace-wayland and unused its dependencies.
