this was fixed by upstream commit https://github.com/strace/strace/commit/44cf51a38cce1e90bb6c22208fa45f95cdcc8f5d,
the next strace release is expected at the end of this month.

Fedora Linux 38 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2024-05-21.

will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we
