Description Marco Fortina 2023-10-15 09:52:05 UTC
Description of problem:

It's not possibile to use DRBD in CentOS Stream 9, because drbd's kernel module is not available.

Please add kmod-drbd on EPEL Next repository.

Thanks,
Marco

DRBD version 9.2.6 is out: https://pkg.linbit.com//downloads/drbd/9/drbd-9.2.6.tar.gz

This one can be build on CentOS Stream 9 without errors.

Comment 2 Peter Hanecak 2023-11-05 13:28:59 UTC
I'm not maintaining the kernel module part, only util package. Hence shoud be re-assigned, possibly to jmforbes?

Comment 3 Justin M. Forbes 2023-11-06 12:42:22 UTC
RHEL does not ship the drbd module, and by policy Fedora/EPEL does not allow kmod packages. It might be possible to request that the drbd module get enabled, but I don't know how likely it is to happen as enabled means supported.

Comment 4 Carl George 🤠 2025-02-12 16:05:09 UTC
EPEL Next is used to rebuild existing EPEL packages that need to target RHEL and CentOS separately, such as for a library change between minor versions. If a package is not already in EPEL, it shouldn't be added to EPEL Next. And since EPEL doesn't allow kmods, this request can't be completed.
