This is an early notice about Python 3.13 which will be the main Python in Fedora 41+ (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Python3.13). We detected that python-amico build requires /usr/bin/2to3 which will be removed from Python 3.13. Python-maint has already started testing Fedora packages with Python 3.13 alphas. We'll appreciate unblocking python-amico as soon as possible to enable smooth integration. Possible solutions to this issue: - (preferred) port your package to Python 3 upstream - patch the source code of the package using 2to3 and add the patch to dist git 2to3 is still present in Fedora 37, 38, 39, 40. Reproducible: Always
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 40 development cycle. Changing version to 40.
I propose to retire this package. Nothing depends on it. It appears unmaintained (last commit 9 years ago). Add to that the current licensing developments around Redis[1] and it will soon become obsolete. I have no desire of carrying a 2to3 patch. +1, let's retire it.
Ankur, you are the main admin of this package. I think it's up to you to send this package into retirement.
Removed neuro-sig and orphaned.
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.
Automation has figured out the package is retired in rawhide. If you like it to be unretired, please open a ticket at https://pagure.io/releng/new_issue?template=package_unretirement
