Please branch and build postsrsd-2.0.8 in epel7 epel8 and epel9. If you do not wish to maintain postsrsd-2.0.8 in epel7 epel8 or epel9, or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner, I would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package (FAS fukuchy); please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/postsrsd/adduser
postsrsd 2.x is NOT backwards compatible with 1.x installs, and so this should not be updated in existing EPEL repositories. EPEL 7/8/9 should only receive security updates for postsrsd as per the Fedora Updates policy. If you need postsrsd 2.x, possible options are: - updates in Fedora rawhide, in preparation for EPEL 10 - backport of needed features - a postsrsd2 package for EPEL 7/8/9
Thank you for tellinng me. I changed the summary.
Will you be able to branch and build postsrsd2 in epel9? I would be happy to be a co-maintainer if you do not wish to build it on epel9 (FAS: fukuchy).
Bumping this; the latest version available in EPEL is postsrsd-1.12.3 which is nearly 18 months old (Aug '22). The most current release, 2.0.8, came out in August '23, and is significantly changed from the 1.x version that we need a postsrsd2 package. The last build attempt in Koji was 2.0.2, in July '23, and it failed building for f39.
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.
