Description Massimiliano L. 2023-10-28 13:25:33 UTC
I am running Fedora (with KDE) on a desktop with AMD discrete graphics (RX 6600) and a single external display connected through DisplayPort.

If the display is off during boot, after turning it on I get a blank black screen instead of the SDDM login screen.

It is possible to switch to a terminal but the login screen never appears. Logs show SDDM exits after a crash of maliit keyboard.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. turn off display
2. boot up system
3. turn on display
Actual Results:
Screen is blank, only switching to a terminal is possible.

Expected Results:
Login screen appears.

Tested this both on my current Fedora 38 and on a fresh install of Fedora 39 beta.

System has been installed using "Fedora Everything" and selecting "KDE Desktop" and not through the Fedora KDE installation medium.

Problem does not appear on KDE Neon or OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, but it seems they are not running SDDM itself on Wayland.
