Description of problem:
When the connection slot reach the end of the connection table,a ASAN build crash with a buffer overflow.

How reproducible:

The upstream ticket contains a testcase https://github.com/389ds/389-ds-base/issues/5924

Actual results:
Asan build should not crash

Expected results:
Asan build should not crash

The bug exist in 12.2 and 12.3
